General Polymers floor and wall systems can be manufactured with an antimicrobial additive. The additive protects the floor/wall system by inhibiting the growth of odor-causing bacteria, fungi, molds, mildew and algae. The antimicrobial additive is effective in both epoxy and urethane products. When incorporated throughout the entire system, the biostatic effects last for the life of the floor or wall system, and will not wash out or become inactivated over time.

We offer a broad selection of floor and wall systems which are available with antimicrobial additive. These include systems for decorative and industrial applications.

FasTop Plus Systems with Agion® Antimicrobial Additive
FasTop® Flooring systems are now available with Agion® antimicrobial technology. This product is ideal for any area where cleanliness is an issue.     FasTop Plus containing the Agion antimicrobial technology provides added value. FasTop Plus containing Agion antimicrobial resists attack from mold and mildew on the flooring surface.

    Agion Antimicrobial Technology
    Agion’s antimicrobial technology is a patented system utilizing silver ions encapsulated within a zeolite carrier. This unique delivery system allows for long-term controlled release of silver ions through ion exchange and surface abrasion. Agion’s antimicrobial technology is less toxic than table salt and less irritating than talcum powder. Agion’s technologies are broadly accepted by regulatory agencies for various applications, including:

  • EPA registered (#71227-4-72854) for food and water contact, HVAC, and other applications.
  • FDA listed for use in all types of food-contact polymers (§21 CFR 176.170).
  • USDA listed for non-food compounds maintained by NSF for food processing plants.
  • NSF 51 Certification for food processing/ food service equipment.
